The credit system is the foundation of 10Puzzles' instructor-student economy. Understanding how credits work ensures smooth package assignments and helps instructors manage their teaching resources effectively.

Basic Credit Mechanics

Simple Formula

• 1 Credit = 1 Package Assignment
• Credits are consumed when you assign a package to a student
• One credit allows one student to access one complete package

Credit Usage

1. Instructor assigns package → Credit is immediately deducted

2. Student starts package → Credit assignment is confirmed

3. Student doesn't start → Credit is automatically returned

When Credits Are Used

Package Assignment

• Immediate Deduction: Credit is used the moment you assign a package
• Per Student: Each student assignment requires one credit
• Package Type: Standard, custom, and reinforcement packages all cost 1 credit
• Retry Package: Retry Packages are free of charge

Credit Confirmation

• Student Starts: Credit is permanently consumed when student begins solving
• Active Assignment: Credit remains committed while package is assigned but not started

When Credits Are Returned

Automatic Returns

• Student Never Starts: Full credit return if student doesn't begin package within reasonable time
• Instructor Cancels: Credit returned if instructor removes assignment before student starts
• System Errors: Credits returned for any technical assignment failures

No Returns

• After Student Starts: Once solving begins, credit is permanently consumed
• Completed Packages: No refunds for finished assignments
• Partial Completion: Credit used even if student doesn't finish all puzzles

Promotional Credits

New Student Bonus

• 5 Promotional Credits: Every new student connection brings 5 free credits to the instructor
• Automatic Addition: Credits appear immediately upon student acceptance
• One-Time Bonus: Each unique student connection provides bonus only once

How to Earn Promotional Credits

1. Invite New Students: Send invitation links to new users

2. Student finishes SignUp: Student sets passwords for his account and finishes SignUp

3. Immediate Bonus: 5 credits added to your account automatically

Using Promotional Credits

• Same as Regular Credits: No difference in functionality
• No Expiration: Promotional credits never expire
• Priority Usage: System uses promotional credits first
